The Spiral Bookcase & Main Street Music present an evening of Story & Song, featuring Dave HousleyTara Murtha, and Rock and Roll

Dave and Tara will be reading excerpts and discussing their newest books – If I Knew the Way, I Would Take You Home (Dave), and Bobbie Gentry’s Ode to Billie Joe (Tara). 
Main Street Music will be setting up shop and selling a curated selection of new & used albums – including the great recommendations of Dave and Tara. We’ll also play special set-lists that are meant to be enjoyed with each book. 
AND – We know how great books and music go together SO if you purchase either Dave or Tara’s book (but we suggest both) you get 10% off a vinyl purchase during the event

We will supply some light refreshments – BYOB.

Dave Housley‘s third collection of short fiction, If I Knew the Way, I Would Take You Home, was published by Dzanc Books in January 2015. He is the author of Commercial Fiction (Outpost 19) and Ryan Seacrest is Famous (Impetus Press, Dzanc Books eBook Reprint). His work has appeared in Hobart, Mid-American Review, Quarterly West, Wigleaf and some other places. He is one of the founding editors of Barrelhouse magazine, and a co-founder of the Conversations and Connections writer’s conference. Tara Murtha is the author of Ode to Billie Joe for the critically acclaimed 33 1/3 series, and a longtime Philadelphia journalist. She is also the author of The Ripple Effect, a reported essay exploring the aftermath of the Kermit Gosnell case, which was anthologized by Cherry Bomb Books.
